- I thought James had it in the bag. However, I thought in season 6 Melinda Doolittle had it in the bag too. Earlier in the season I thought it would come down to James, Casey and Pia. Toward the middle I grew weary of Casey's growling. So, I turned my sights to James and Lauren.

- Bush didn't do it in 7 years. Obama did not advertise his diligence. He made true on a campaign promise. I applaud him. I also am grateful that justice has been served for the families who lost loved ones on 9/11.

- From now on out it is going to be sad. So Berman wake up and try to find it in that tiny little hear to offer some support to the singers you wish you had been. Stefano's departure was sad, just as sad as it would have been if it have been Jacob's, Haley's, Casey's, Scotty's, James's or Lauren's.

- I thought Paul should go sooner. His voice was unique but not that good to me. I think Stefano has an excellent voice. He is more of a contender than Paul was to me. Now that he is gone whoever leaves next and next and next will be a tragedy because they are all that good.

- Pia was not at all boring or arrogant. For those who truly follow Idol and have watched it since the beginning she was one of the best. Time would have allowed her to grow to learn how to act on a stage. I disagree with whoever said Simon would have called her boring.

- If Idol wasn't so ridiculous about the number of people voting each week it would be fair. They need to limit the number of votes per phone line, text or online.

- Russell Brand is a gentle soul. He is polite, witty and he has been through some things in his life that have bought him to a level of humility. But, I don't think they need to remake movies period. No updated Arthur, no updated True Grit, no updated anything else.
